Kids' Charity Golf Classic
The goal of our annual event is to promote awareness and raise
funds for children's causes and ensure our golf-loving friends
have a wonderful "18" at a top-notch course. Activities
also include a fabulous dinner, awarding of prizes, and an amazing
silent auction.
Autism
is a disorder that needs our help. There is currently no known cure
for this increasingly common developmental disability -- it affects
well over 60,000 Canadian households. Although children with Autism
look just like our own kids, they have serious problems with communication,
social interaction, and behaviour.
The "Classic" started in 2001 with 48 golfers and a $2,600
contribution to Autism Ontario (formerly Autism Society Ontario).
In 2007, over 144 golfers and supporters raised $20,000. Our
donation total for kids and families living with Autism has reached
$120,000.
We visit Lionhead Golf & Country Club for the 8th KCGC on
Wednesday, May 28, 2008 with the exciting challenge of
increasing this amount by $25,000.
This can only be done with help from an extremely generous group
of golfers, sponsors, and volunteers. If you are interested in participating
in our very worthwhile cause, and having one heck of a rewarding
day, please refer to the menu options on the left.
